In the event a VIPRE Business Agent is unable to be removed, the VIPRE Removal Utility can be used.
The following tool removes the VIPRE Business, VIPRE Business Premium, VIPRE Endpoint Security, and VIPRE Endpoint Security Cloud agents version 12.0.7874 and previous versions. This tool is for the windows agent only. It is meant as a cleanup tool only. If you can remove the agent software from programs and features or uninstall from the VIPRE business console you should do this prior to running the tool.
This will only uninstall the VIPRE Agent, and not the VIPRE Console. Meaning it will be safe to run on a server that has the VIPRE console installed.
Versions the VIPRE Removal Tool will uninstall:
12.0.7874
12.0.7873
11.0.2.24
10.1.0.17
9.6
After running the Removal tool, and rebooting, the VIPRE Removal Tool will prompt to run again, and let you know that the VIPRE agent was successfully removed.
**If you do not see the application running again after the reboot, then the Removal Tool did not run successfully.**
Important Considerations:
- This tool MUST be Run as Administratorto function correctly
- Once run, the system will be Automatically Rebooted
- The '-spquiet' switch can be used to run the tool silently
